Top Best Vet Nominations
Dr Gambs of twin Valley Vet Clinic, Dunlap Iowa!
Without a doubt, the very best vet is Dr. Amy Harrison who works at Coral Springs Animal Hospital in Coral Springs, Florida. Dr, Harrison is the perfect doctor. She always makes time to listen (really listen) to your concerns about your animal, even if it makes her schedule run late. She offers many different treatment options and always considers the financial aspect when doing so. She is compassionate beyond belief and extremely smart. She is the perfect blend of knowledge and caring. Dr. Harrison goes above and beyond ..it is never 'business as usual' with her. I am so very grateful to have her take care of my animals and always recommend her. Jane Miller, LISW, CDBC: Dr Robert Barney @ Lakewood Animal Hospital, Lakewood OHIO 216 -226-0400. He practices wholistic and traditional veterinary care intertwining Chinese herbs, acupuncture and traditional healthcare and he is the most caring, generous, committed, compassionate man in the world. My dogs and all of my clients dogs are blessed to have him taking such amazing care of their companions. A portion of the proceeds of my book goes to the Umaya Fund at Lakewood Animal Hospital to cover the costs of care for those with service dogs that have limited financial resources. Amy Glowacki: The best vet is Dr. Janet Merrill in Wilton, NH of the Wilton Animal Hospital. My cat Cass was diagnosed as a diabetic in October 2008. Cass passed away in November 2009. Dr. Merrill was there every step of the way helping us to make Cassie's last months happy and full of quality. Once Cass was diagnosed, Dr. Merrill spent time listening to our concerns and teaching us how to care for Cass' special needs. Most importantly she gave of her time and allowed us to process and come to terms with the care that Cass needed. She never rushed us, she always listened. We talked in person or on the phone almost every day. Initially, we brought Cass to the office every week for blood sugar tests. Dr. Merrill never pushed us but allowed us to reach the point where we agreed to test Cass's blood at home. This was the best decision for Cass and for us, but Dr. Merrill never forced us to make that decision. The decision evolved naturally through our relationship with her and her understanding of Cass's needs. Having a beloved pet diagnosed with diabetes is difficult to comprehend and it is a life-altering decision to commit to caring for that pet and her special needs. Dr. Merrill allowed us to accept the responsibilities as we were ready, never pushing us, but gently leading us where we needed to go and always being there to listen. Cass became much sicker with many complications, but her will and spirit to live only strengthened. Dr. Merrill worked with us to keep Cassie "healthy" by working with us to provide solutions for her current situations without overreacting and causing unnecessary stress for Cass. Dr. Merrill provided options for improving Cass's quality of life without impeding on her "just being a cat". Never did we feel we were causing pain or imposing upon the quality of the life of our cat or extending her life just because we could. Dr. Merrill followed Cass's progress and worked with us to return her to a being a vibrant, strong cat who enjoyed her life. Once Cass had been to the office and the blood work revealed she needed an antibiotic. Instead of making me bring Cass back to the office, Dr. Merrill asked me if I would be comfortable coming in and learning how to give Cass the shot at home. This is one of the many examples of how Dr. Merrill knew me and Cass and our needs and provided the least stressful care for Cass. Every time I called with a question or concern Dr. Merrill returned my calls immediately. We developed a deep trust in the long road to caring for Cass. Cassie's return of strength and spirit was a testament to Dr. Merrill's care and involvement. When Cass's condition worsened on a Sunday and she needed emergency care we were devastated that we could not take her to Dr. Merrill's office as it is closed on weekends. When Cassie survived her immediate crisis we chose to move her from the critical care facility first thing on Monday morning so Dr. Merrill could care for her, because we knew that Dr. Merrill truly loved her and understood her needs. Unfortunately, Dr. Merrill was off that Monday, and that turned out to be Cassie's last day on with us. However, the first thing Tuesday morning we received a call from Dr. Merrill expressing her condolences. She truly cared for our cat and for us. She recognizes that the successful care of the pet is tied to the care of the owners. She also gave us an extra 13 months with our beloved Cass. Next week we will be welcoming two new kittens in our lives. Besides the joy of new life, we are looking forward to renewing our relationship with Dr. Merrill and her entire staff. Dr. Merrill is truly the "Best Vet Ever."
Antonia Hall: It's got to be Dr. Carl Kelly and Round Hill Animal Hospital, in Round Hill Nevada (just east of South Lake Tahoe, CA). Kaneta Kae Buhrow:
